Golden Flyers race at Colgate University

Bradley leads women's team to third-place; Stenuf leads men to fourth

HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Nazareth junior Shannon Bradley finished the 4,200-meter race in 20th place (18:56) to lead the women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Harry Lang Invitational, hosted by Colgate University.

Nazareth used its depth again to help them preform well. The Golden Flyers had a group of nine runners, including Bradley, finish between 20th and 32nd. Bradley was followed by senior Abby Crain in 21st (18:57) while junior Caitlyn Parmelee finished 23rd (19:14).

Freshman Kate Cufari was Nazareth's fourth runner in 25th (19:19), followed by sophomore Samantha Hickok in 27th (19:38), senior Megan Goetz in 29th (19:48), and sophomores Lizzie McAndrew (19:51), Jessica Stanchus (19:56), and Jessica Goodrich (19:59) in 30th, 31st, and 32nd place respectively. Sophomores Jacquie Brambley (20:27) and Sarah Wilcox (20:37), and freshman Michelle Gillette (20:45), finished close behind in 34th, 35th, and 37th place.

The Golden Flyers' top five runners tallied 75 points to claim third-place of the seven teams. Syracuse claimed the top three places and had five runners finish in the top-ten places to win the meet with a total of 22 points. Colgate finished in second with 33 points while Mohawk Valley finished in fourth with 86 points.

In the men's meet, graduate student Nick Stenuf was Nazareth's top finisher in 10th-place as he completed the six-kilometer run in 20:00 to help lead the men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish. Freshman Peter Fekete finished second for the Golden Flyers in 29th (21:34) followed by senior Robby Castor in 30th (21:35). Freshmen Ryan Ingram (22:20) and Donato Direnzo (22:47) rounded out Nazareth's top-five runners as they finished 41st and 47th respectively.

Freshman Tim Rutan (23:06) was the Golden Flyers' next finisher in 52nd place. Rutan was followed by sophomores Matt Morales (23:07) and Paul Wheeler (23:31) in 54th and 58th place while freshman Nick Spera finished 60th (24:00).

Nazareth's top five runners accumulated 96 points to finish in fourth-place of the seven teams. As in the women's meet, Syracuse took the top three places to win the meet with 19 points. Colgate was second with 44 points, followed by Delhi in third with 76 points.

The Golden Flyers' next meet is September 20th at the Western Ontario Invitational in London, Ontario.
