ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Laura Persico pounded out 11 kills and junior Mallorie Clary added 13 digs Tuesday as Nazareth defeated visiting Brockport in a non-conference women's volleyball match, 3-0.

Nazareth won by scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-23 to improve to 9-6 overall. Brockport dropped to 8-12 overall.

Nazareth trailed 11-6 in the opening set, before rallying to score 19 of the next 26 points. Freshman Audrey Zimmerman contributed nine kills with just one hitting error and junior Carra Vanderstyne had seven kills. Junior Kate Zwickl had a match-high 24 assists.

Brockport was led by Kelly Nowak's eight kills. Amanda Yachetta had 18 assists and nine digs.

The Golden Flyers travel to Hoboken, N.J. this weekend to open Empire 8 Conference play at Stevens. Nazareth plays Elmira and Alfred Friday and then Hartwick and Ithaca Saturday.
