ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior
Rachel Leonard accounted for Nazareth's only point Tuesday as the Golden Flyers dropped a non-conference women's tennis match to visiting Geneseo, 8-1.
Leonard was ahead 5-0 against Geneseo's Erika Pumple in the first set when Pumple retired. Geneseo, meanwhile, won its 22nd straight dual match and improved to 6-0 overall. Nazareth fell to 3-3 overall.
Pumple teamed with freshman Julia Passik for an 8-6 win over Leonard and
Jackeline Martinez at first doubles. Nazareth also dropped a close match at second doubles with the team of
Danielle Carinci and Jess Faber losing to Vivian Chueng and Katie Gayvert 8-5.
Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule Thursday at St. John Fisher at 3:30 p.m.
