ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sophomore Raymond Touchstone scored the game's only goal early in the second half Saturday and Nazareth held on for a 1-0 men's soccer victory over visiting Hamilton at Golden Flyer Stadium.

The non-conference win was Nazareth's second of the season as the Golden Flyers improved to 2-4-1. Hamilton suffered its first defeat of the year and now stands at 4-1 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Nazareth broke through in the 47th minute. Nazareth's Chris Lofgren took a direct kick on goal that was punched away by Hamilton goalie Anthony Carello. The rebound landed on the foot of Touchstone to delivered a shot to the back of the net for his first career goal.

Hamilton put some pressure on the Golden Flyers in the later stages of the second half, but freshman Ryan Platt recorded six saves for his second shutout of the season. Perhaps Hamilton's best chance came with less than seven minutes left when Jesse Arroyave chipped a shot over Platt's head. Nazareth's Andrew Alaimo was in front of the goal mouth to head the ball away.

Nazareth plays its next two games at home -- Wednesday against SUNYIT at 4 p.m. and Saturday against St. John Fisher at 1 p.m.
