ROCHESTER, NY - Nazareth dominated visiting Oswego in a non-conference field hockey game defeating the Lakers, 5-1. The Golden Flyers scored three goals in the first half and two in the second before Oswego got on the board in the final 10 minutes to take away the shutout.

Emily Conway (Fairport) opened up the scoring for Nazareth 11 minutes into the game, scoring off a crossing pass from sophomore
Lauren Peczkowski (Sweet Home/Grand Island, NY). Junior
Kelly Flanagan (Fairport) scored less than ten minutes later off a centering pass from
Sara Heron (Sweet Home/Amherst). Senior
Julie Paska (South Glens Falls/Fort Edward, NY) rounded out the first half scoring at 27:23 off an assist from
Kristen McIntyre (Royalton-Hartland/Lockport, NY).
Flanagan scored her second of the game 20 minutes into the second half off a pass from
Emily Conway (Fairport). Less than five minutes later Paska scored her second of the afternoon off a pass from
Kayla Hamblin (New York Mills). Oswego's Hannah Chevalier scored at 60:41 off a pass from Kelly Collins.
The Golden Flyers out-shot Oswego 34-7 and had the 21-7 advantage in penalty corners.
Kelsey Evans (Penfield) made three saves in goal to earn her second win of the season. Jamie Scharfe had 15 saves in goal for the Lakers.
Nazareth improves to 2-2 and begins E8 conference play Saturday at Stevens at 12 p.m.
