Nazareth outscores Keuka, 13-9

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. -- Senior midfielder Matt Aloi and sophomore attackman Mark DeCirce each scored three goals Tuesday as Nazareth posted a 13-9 non-conference victory in its final regular-season game for men's lacrosse. The Golden Flyers improved to 8-6 overall.

Nazareth led 3-0 after one period, but Keuka rallied to score four of the first five goals of the second period to tie the score at 4-4. Nazareth's Erinn O'Hara scored unassisted with 3:05 left and Aloi scored with :16 left in the half to give the Golden Flyers a 6-4 advantage.

In the third quarter, Nazareth scored five of the first six goals to take a commanding 11-5 lead. Keuka scored twice in the last :34 of the third quarter and scored the first goal of the fourth quarter to slice Nazareth's lead to 11-8. The teams exchanged goals before Nazareth settled for the four-goal victory margin.

In addition to Aloi and DeCirce, freshman midfielder Scott Castle contributed two goals and one assist. O'Hara and freshman attackman Joe Jacobs-Ferderbar each had one goal and one assist. Senior midfielders Aaron Civalier and Mark Kanellis each had goals as did freshman middie Corey Remoli.

Nazareth had a 57-30 shooting advantage and won 16 of 26 face-offs. Freshman R.J. Gringeri won 8 of 11 and junior Chris Law took 7 of 11. Senior Anthony Desimone played all 60 minutes in goal and made nine saves.
