Michelle Cook each recorded four goals to lead Nazareth to a 13-8 victory over visiting Hartwick in an Empire 8 women's lacrosse game.
With the victory, the Golden Flyers improve to 8-2 overall and 6-0 in the Empire 8. The Hawks fall to 3-7 overall and 1-4 in conference games. Nazareth can clinch the Empire 8 regular season title with a victory against 15th-ranked Stevens Sunday. The Golden Flyers host the Ducks at 1 p.m.
After Davis put Nazareth ahead 1-0 on an unassisted goal in the first three minutes of the game, Hartwick answered with three straight goals as Jamie Boulton, Jen Kaye, and Kelsey Campbell each found the back of the net. Junior Katie Schneeberger cut the Golden Flyers' deficit to 3-2 by tallying an unassisted goal with 19:13 to play in the first half.
Cook then tied the game for Nazareth about eight minutes later as she connected on a free position shot. After Hartwick's Katie Thorpe recorded an unassisted goal, Davis and Cook each scored for the Golden Flyers in the final two minutes of the half to give Nazareth a 5-4 lead at the break.

Jennifer Young each scored in the first five minutes of the second half to extend the Golden Flyers' lead to four goals. Hartwick's Stephanie Nutt and Kelsey Campbell scored to cut Nazareth's lead to 8-6 with 23:01 remaining.
Davis, however, tallied her fourth goal less than two minutes later, and freshman
Alyssa Mulheron scored with 16:02 left in the game to reclaim Nazareth's four-goal lead. In addition to Cook's fourth goal of the game, the Golden Flyers also received a goal from sophomore
Alyssia Roberts and Schneeberger in the final six minutes to secure Nazareth's victory.
The Golden Flyers outshot the Hawks 34-14 and had a 23-14 advantage in ground balls. Nazareth was 3-6 on its free position opportunities, which helped the Golden Flyers pull away in the second half.
