With the victory, the Golden Flyers improve to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in Empire 8 games. The Saxons fall to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in conference games.
Nazareth took control of the game early as the Golden Flyers sprinted to a 4-0 in the first 6:38. Nazareth's first goal came from sophomore
Alyssia Roberts who recorded an unassisted goal just 1:03 into the game. Young tallied Nazareth's next two goals on free position shots to extend the Golden Flyers' lead. Cook scored her first goal of the game to give Nazareth its fourth goal.

Jamie Robison stretched the Golden Flyers' lead to 6-0 as each player scored a free position goal midway through the first half. Kate Simonds scored for the Saxons to put Alfred on the board with 14:49, but Young and freshman
Kara Kulba each recorded a goal with less than 10 minutes to play in the first half to give Nazareth an 8-1 halftime lead.
The Golden Flyers opened the second half with four quick goals to secure their victory. Sophomores
Nora Davis and
Stephanie Cash each tallied one goal and Cook added her second goal of the game to give Nazareth a commanding 11-1 advantage with 22:20 left in the game. Evans recorded her second goal of the game about two minutes later after she received a pass from Young. Alfred was unable to score in the second half until Simonds recorded her second goal of the game with 11:45 remaining.

Maria Fusco and sophomore
Ann Sessler combined to make three saves in goal for the Golden Flyers. Kate Baughman finished with seven saves for Alfred.
Nazareth held large advantages in shots (23-6), ground balls (28-11), and draw controls (11-5). Alfred was whistled for 31 fouls compared to nine for the Golden Flyers. Nazareth converted five of its 10 free position opportunities.
The Golden Flyers host Empire 8 rival St. John Fisher in their next game, Wednesday at 4 p.m.
