With the victory, Nazareth improves to 3-2 overall and is 1-0 in the Empire 8. RIT drops to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Junior Katie Schneeberger connected on a free position shot to give the Golden Flyers an early 1-0 lead just 2:40 into the game. RIT temporarily tied the game with a goal by Eileen Hennigan at the 21:53 mark, but Nazareth freshman
Alyssa Mulheron gave Nazareth the lead 36 seconds later. Mulheron's goal was assisted by senior
Sara Spillane. Young added a goal on a free position shot to stretch the Golden Flyers' lead to 3-1.
Danielle Previ scored two consecutive goals for RIT to tie the game, 3-3. Previ's first goal came with 16:13 left in the first half. Her second goal came 17 seconds later on a free position shot. Nazareth was able to reclaim a two-goal advantage after Davis and Young each connected on free position opportunites. Davis's goal came with 15:07 left in the first while Young scored with 9:43 remaining in the half. The Tigers' Jessica Cotton scored off a pass from Hennigan with 2:54 left before halftime to cut Nazareth's lead to 5-4 at the break.
Davis scored her second goal of the game 4:39 into the second half to extend the Golden Flyers' lead to 6-4. Spillane collected her second assist on Davis's goal. RIT and Nazareth traded the next seven goals as the Tigers cut their deficit to one goal but the Golden Flyers' defense never allowed them to tie the game.
Cook scored two goals and Davis tallied her third goal of the game to keep Nazareth ahead in the final 20 minutes. Cook's goal with 9:33 to remaining in the second half eventually proved to be the difference. RIT's Jerica Young connected on a free position shot with 5:45 left in the game, but the Tigers were unable to tie the game in the closing minutes.

Maria Fusco totaled seven saves for the Golden Flyers while Kelsey Evans made 11 saves for RIT. Nazareth held an advantage in draw controls (10-9) and ground balls (33-22). The Tigers were whistled for 31 fouls compared to 14 for the Golden Flyers.
Nazareth hosts Alfred in an Empire 8 conference game March 30th at 1 p.m.
