McAdam named to all-district team
NABC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMSROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Corey McAdam, a sophomore guard on the Nazareth College men's basketball team, has been named to the 2008 All-District first team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The players were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC and represent eight districts. The athletes are now eligible for the State Farm Division III All-America teams, also selected by the NABC.
McAdam was one of six first-team selections in the East District. He started all 28 games for the Golden Flyers in 2007-08 and helped Nazareth win the Empire 8 Conference championship and gain its first NCAA Tournament berth since 1998. He ranked third on the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game and set a school single-season record with 244 assists and ranked second nationally in that category at 8.7 per game.
A first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star, McAdam also led the Golden Flyers in steals as he equaled his own single-season record with 81 (2.9 per game). Nazareth finished with an overall record of 20-8 after falling to Rhode Island College, 77-73, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
