With the loss, Nazareth falls to 8-15 overall and 4-10 in the conference. The visiting Hawks improved to 6-17 and 4-10 in conference play with the win.
Hartwick finished the first half with a three-point play by Sarah Waltersdorf to take a 23-21 lead into half time. Early in the second half, the Golden Flyers led by seven points after
Lizzie Barlow connected on a jump shot from
Jamie Malloy. The game remained even throughout the second half as both teams traded baskets. Sophomore

Lizzie Barlow combined for 16 rebounds for the Golden Flyers. The Hawks forced Nazareth to make 19 turnovers to their 12.

Kelly Dunne recorded 12 points in the game for Nazareth. Hartwick's Danee Harrison was fouled by Sharpe with 10:10 left in the game. Harrison capatalized on one foul shot to bring the Hawks within one point. Nazareth led 38-36 with 9:31 to go in regulation. The Hawks answered Nazareth's defense with three consecutive shots; a three-pointer from Fritzi Flores and layups from Danee Harrison and Sarah Waltersdorf respectively. Nazareth's
Rachel Pirozzolo scored immediately after.
With 1:06 left in the game,
Sally Wilcox nailed a three-pointer to bring the Golden Flyers within one. In the end, Hartwick's four free throws helped seal the victory for the Hawks.
The Golden Flyers will travel to Elmira on Friday, February 22 to face the Soaring Eagles in an Empre 8 Conference game.
