Nazareth defeats Oswego, 104-94

Golden Flyers earn first victory

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Junior Corey McAdam recorded a career-high 31 points and senior Jeff DeHimer also recorded a career-high 27 points to lead the Golden Flyers to a 104-94 non-conference victory over SUNY Oswego. McAdam also tallied nine assists, eight rebounds, and five steals while DeHimer added a game-high 16 rebounds.

Nazareth improves to 1-4 overall with the victory while Oswego drops to 5-2 overall following the loss.

After the Lakers held a single-digit lead through the first 15:51 of the game, Nazareth senior Ryan McAdam connected on two free throw attempts to give Nazareth a 33-32 lead. The Golden Flyers went on an 8-2 scoring run to take a 41-34 lead with 2:48 to play in the half and took a 48-43 lead at halftime.

The Lakers rallied to tie the score, 57-57, with seven consecutive points, but the Golden Flyers took the lead on a layup from Corey McAdam with 14:20 to play. Nazareth stretched its lead to 11 points following two free throws from sophomore Ellis Walsh. Nazareth converted 17 of 19 free throw attempts in the final 3:57 of the game to secure its victory.

Ryan McAdam finished with 17 points and nine rebounds while freshman Jordan Major was the Golden Flyers' fourth player in double-digits with 14 points. Sophomore #J.T. Miranda# also contributed 13 rebounds and added six points.

Tommy Downing and Kyle Reuter were the Lakers' top scorers with 30 points and 28 points respectively. Chad Burridge also was a threat for Oswego as he added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Stanley Francois also finished with 10 rebounds.

Nazareth plays at the Staten Island Tournament December 28th and 29th before returning home for an Empire 8 conference game against Stevens January 2nd at 8 p.m.
