ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Empire 8 Conference titles for women's soccer and volleyball will be on the line for Nazareth this weekend as the two teams hit the road to compete in their respective conference championships.
Nazareth's women's soccer team will be in Ithaca Saturday to play in the four-team E8 Tournament. The Golden Flyers are seeded second with an overall record of 11-6-1 and a 7-1 conference mark. They play third-seeded RIT (9-6-2, 5-2-1 E8) Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Top-seeded Ithaca (12-2-2, 7-1 E8) meets fourth-seeded Stevens (12-4-2, 5-3 E8) in the first game at 11 a.m.
The semifinal winners will meet in the championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m., unless Ithaca hosts the men's final as well, in which case the women's final will be at 11 a.m.
"This is where we want to be," said Nazareth Coach
Gail Mann, who celebrated her 200th career victory with last Saturday's 1-0 win over Utica. "We're excited and confident and ready to go."
