ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Lizzie Barlow scored a game-high 11 points to lead the Golden Flyers to a 70-32 victory over visiting Hilbert in a non-conference women's basketball game. Nazareth won the game , which was the season opener for each team, with a balanced scoring attack as the Golden Flyers had 14 players record points.

Nazareth took an early 11-1 lead in the first 4:27 as Barlow and freshman Brittany Wilson each tallied two baskets and junior Jamie Malloy added a layup. The Golden Flyers extended their lead to 36-14 at halftime following consecutive baskets from Malloy, Barlow, and Malloy.

Junior Kelly Dunne ignited Nazareth to begin the second half with a three-point basket 10 seconds into the period. The Golden Flyers stretched their lead to 40 points following a three-point basket from freshman Danielle Chamberlain with 9:10 remaining to play. Nazareth extended its lead to a game-high 43 points following a layup from freshman Amber Leonard with 2:30 left in the game.

In addition to Barlow's 11 points, freshman Ashley Gallagher had nine points followed by eight points from Chamberlain and Wilson. Malloy finished with seven points while freshman Katie Kollar contributed six points and Leonard and junior Kylie Bartlett each added five points.

Mary Zinni led the Hawks with eight points, followed by Kaitlyn Wetzel and Jackie Pienkowski with seven points a piece.

The Golden Flyers held a 45-36 edge in rebounds, led by Malloy who had seven. Amanda Dudek finished with a game-high nine rebounds for Hilbert. Nazareth recorded 16 steals and forced the Hawks into 24 turnovers. Freshman Brittany Tallchief led the Golden Flyers with three steals while five other Nazareth players each recorded two.

The Golden Flyers travel to Fredonia for a non-conference game Tuesday evening before returning home for a non-conference game November 22nd at 4 p.m.
