ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Senior
Julie Paska scored the visiting Golden Flyers' lone goal as visiting Nazareth fell 2-1 in overtime to Hartwick in an Empire 8 conference field hockey game.
Nazareth drops to 6-10 overall and 1-5 in Empire 8 conference games following the loss. Hartwick improves to 7-10 and 4-2 in conference games after the victory.
The Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Paska tied the game for the Golden Flyers with about 20 minutes remaining in the game. Freshman
Erin Law was credited with an assist on Paska's game-tying goal.
Nazareth's defense and goalie,
Kelsey Evans, played well to prevent Hartwick from scoring in regulation. The Hawks, however, scored the game-winning goal early in overtime to claim the victory.
Evans finished with eight saves for the Golden Flyers.
Hartwick finished with a 15-11 advantage in penalty corners.
Nazareth completes its 2008 season with a non-conference game at Union Sunday, November 2nd.
