ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth scored early and often Tuesday as the Golden Flyers downed Keuka, 4-0, in a non-conference men's soccer match at Golden Flyer Stadium.
The Golden Flyers scored three times in the game's first five minute and had all four of their goals in the first half to improve to 5-6-2 overall. Keuka had a four-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 8-2-1 overall.
Freshman
Andrew Alaimo (East Syracuse-Minoa/Kirkville, NY) scored the first two goals for the Golden Flyers. The first goal came unassisted on a 25-yard blast following a Keuka defensive misplay at 1:12. The second goal came less than a minute later off an assist from freshman
Chris Eccles (Preston, England).
Sophomore
Rikesh Kotak (Leicester, England) delivered Nazareth's third goal at 4:44 off a cross from senior
Justin Stevens (Canisius HS/Derby, NY). Kotak also contributed the assist on Nazareth's fourth goal that was headed in by junior
Greg Blanchard (Mynderse Academy/Seneca Falls, NY).
Keuka's best chances came in the second half when the Storm amassed all four of their shots. Senior Brandon Scott (Fillmore, NY) had a shot that was saved by Nazareth keeper
Ryan Platt (Preston, England) and another that sailed over the goal from close range.
Platt finished with two saves for his second shutout of the season. Keuka's Mike Meskill (Trumansburg, NY) had eight saves.
Nazareth closes the regular season with three of its last four games at home, starting with two key Empire 8 Conference games this weekend. The Golden Flyers host Utica Saturday at 1 p.m. and Stevens Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will be available via webcast at
