ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior
Kelly Finn scored two goals in the first half to lead Nazareth to a 3-0 victory over visiting Hartwick in an Empire 8 women's soccer game.
With the victory, Nazareth improves to 8-4 overall and remains undefeated in Empire 8 games with a 4-0 record. Hartwick slips to 3-7-2 overall and 1-3-1 in its conference matches.
Finn scored her first goal, which was assisted by freshman
Kerry Gannon, just 34 seconds into the game. Finn tallied her second goal 31 minutes later after receiving a pass from senior
Ashley Clinton. While Finn was leading the offense, the Golden Flyers' defense was also playing strong. Nazareth allowed the Hawks just one shot throughout the first half.
Sophomore
Meagan Rivera stretched the Golden Flyers' lead to 3-0 with just under 20 minutes to play to secure Nazareth's victory. After making a couple of moves with the ball, Rivera ripped a shot from outside the penalty area into the top-left side of the goal.

Hillary Simon played the first half in goal for Nazareth and made one save to earn the victory. Junior Polly Meuhlenkamp played the second half in goal and also recorded one save. Ashley Taylor played about 75 minutes for Hartwick and tallied 10 saves while allowing Nazareth's three goals. Kellyn Rowse played the final 15 minutes and made two saves for the Hawks.
The Golden Flyers held an overwhelming 22-3 advantage in total shots, however, each team had four corner kick opportunities.
Nazareth is in action again Sunday at 1 p.m. when the Golden Flyers host Stevens in a crucial Empire 8 contest.
