ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nazareth fell 4-0 against host Ithaca Saturday afternoon in an Empire 8 field hockey game. Sophomore
Kelsey Evans recorded 11 saves for the Golden Flyers.
After the loss, Nazareth drops to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in Empire 8 games. The Bombers improve to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the Conference with the victory.
Although the Golden Flyers were able to put seven shots on goal, they were unable to put a shot past Ithaca's Courtney Dowell, who recorded the shutout. Junior

Julie Paska recorded one shot on goal.
Ithaca took a 1-0 lead at the 6:47 mark when Sofia Johnson scored after receiving a pass from Annie Onzik. Kirsten Auer extended the Bombers' advantage to two goals with about five minutes to play in the first half. Auer scored again at the 51:01 mark to stretch Ithaca's lead to three goals. Krista Fieselmann was credited with an assist on Auer's first goal while Laura Murphy was credited with an assist on Auer's second goal.
The Bombers appeared to seal the victory about a minute later when Onzik scored an unassisted goal to give Ithaca a 4-0 advantage with 18 minutes remaining in the game.
Ithaca held an 18-13 advantage in shots, however, Nazareth had an 11-8 advantage in penalty corners.
The Golden Flyers host Hamilton in a non-conference game in their next contest, which is Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
