Nazareth holds off Baruch

HOBOKEN, N.J. -- Junior Chris DeHority had a career-high 28 kills to go with 10 digs and four blocks Saturday as Nazareth held on to defeat Baruch in five games in a first-round match at the Stevens Invitational. Scores were 30-23, 30-17, 27-30, 29-31, 15-12.

Nazareth, ranked ninth nationally in Division III, won the first two games, but Baruch rallied to force a fifth and deciding game. Baruch went up 8-7 in the fifth game, then Nazareth ran off five straight points to secure the lead for good. Senior Adam DiCicco had career-bests in kills (22) and digs (14), while sophomore Kevin Kirchhoff had 51 assists.

Nazareth (3-2) plays again at 8 p.m. against fifth-ranked Stevens.
