CUMULATIVE STATSROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth got goals from seniors Matt Bader (pictured) and Zach Hill Saturday as the Golden Flyers blanked Oswego in a non-conference men's soccer game, 2-0.
The Golden Flyers improved to 2-1 overall, while Oswego slipped to 0-3-1.
Bader (Penfield HS/Macedon, NY) scored his second goal of the season in the 19th minute as he headed in a crossing pass from sophomore Christopher Lofgren (Vellinge, Sweden). Hill (Wayne Central/Ontario, NY) added an unassisted goal in the 75th minute on a 25-yard blast following an Oswego clearing attempt.
Nazareth controlled play for most of the way and enjoyed a 20-13 advantage in shots. Sophomore Trey Barresi (Lansing HS/Lansing, NY) made six saves for the Golden Flyers to gain his second shutout. Oswego's Shaun Sessa (Sachem HS/Ronkonkoma, NY) made nine saves.
The Golden Flyers hit the road for their next three games -- at Hamilton Tuesday at 4 p.m., at Skidmore Friday at 7 p.m. and at Union Saturday at 6 p.m.
