SCHENECTADY, NY -- Union sprinted out to a 1-0 lead just over five minutes into its game with visiting Nazareth and never looked back as the Dutchmen defeated the Golden Flyers 4-0 in a non-conference game. Nazareth falls to 2-2-2 on the season while Union remains undefeated at 5-0.

The Golden Flyers were unable to stop Tripp Pietrak as he scored the first three goals of the game for Union -- the first in the sixth minute, the second in the 31st minute, and the third in the 69th minute. Jon Bellock scored in the 70th minute to give the Dutchmen the four-goal victory.

Junior Justino Flores had Nazareth's best scoring opportunities as he fired a shot from the lower right in the 35th minute. However, Union's goalkeeper Rob Kramer was up to the challenge as he made a diving save to keep the Golden Flyers off the board.

Kramer continued to stop Nazareth's attempts late in the game as well. Sophomores Philip Holmberg and Greg Blanchard each put a shot on goal late in the match but Kramer made the saves, including a diving save on Blanchard's attempt. Flores took one final long shot with 27 seconds to play, but it deflected off the crossbar.

Sophomore Trey Barresi made eight saves for the Golden Flyers while Kramer made four for Union to record his second shutout of the season.

The Dutchmen held a 20-9 advantage in shots and a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Nazareth hosts the University of Rochester Tuesday in a non-conference game in its next match.
