CUMULATIVE STATSGENEVA, N.Y. -- Host Hobart scored the game's only goal in the 52nd minute Wednesday as the Statesmen defeated Nazareth in a non-conference men's soccer match, 1-0.
Nazareth slipped to 7-7-2 overall. Hobart improved to 10-2-3.
Hobart had a 19-9 edge in shots and a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks to dominate the game statistically. The lone goal came when Tyler Webster headed a corner kick past Nazareth keeper Trey Barresi at 51:18. Grant Morrison assisted for the Statesmen.
Hobart goalie Phil DaCosta had five saves to produce the shutout. Barresi had four saves for Nazareth.
The Golden Flyers close out their regular-season schedule Saturday with a key Empire 8 Conference match at RIT. Nazareth needs a win or a tie to clinch the fourth and final playoff spot in next week's E8 Tournament.
