Now in his 17th year as Nazareth's head golf coach, Marty Coddington has helped the Golden Flyers' men's team remain competitive in the tough Empire 8 Conference and they compete in many of the area's top tournaments.

Coddington has guided the Golden Flyers' men's team to two conference titles and eight other tournament titles. They've also had nine second-place finishes while producing two NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region all-stars, one Academic All-American, three conference Players of the Year and two E8 Freshmen of the Year.
Coddington has been rewarded by being named E8 Coach of the Year four times (2002-03, 2003-04, 2006-07 and 2007-08).
Although he now coaches the men's team exclusively, Coddington also helped Nazareth launch its women's golf program. He helped Nazareth finish first in the inaugural Empire 8 Conference Tournament in 2009-10 as the Golden Flyers' Michelle Van Slyke gained medalist honors.
A native of Horseheads, N.Y., Coddington played golf at Horseheads High as a seventh grader and earned all-conference honors for seven consecutive years. He continued his career for four years at LeMoyne College, graduating summa cum laude in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in management information systems. In 1996, Coddington earned his New York State CPA license. He earned his Master of Science degree in Management from Nazareth in 2005.
As a golfer, Coddington competes in New York State Golf Association tournaments as well as Rochester District Golf Association events, including the John H. Ryan Memorial.
One of Coddington’s career highlights came at age 17 when he was chosen to serve as captain of a team of 25 American golfers that traveled to Scotland to compete in the Carnoustie Junior Invitational. He placed sixth in the tournament and won the Maxfli-sponsored Pringle Cup for outstanding sportsmanship.
Coddington moved to the Rochester area in 1995 and since 1998 has worked for Wegmans Food Markets. He also works as a part-time accounting instructor at Genesee Community College.
Coddington resides in Pittsford with his wife, Doria, and daughters, Domenica and Stella.
