Rob Castor

A standout for the Golden Flyers in both cross country and track, Rob Castor is back for his fifth season as an assistant coach for both sports in 2014-15.

Castor completed his undergraduate degree in mathematics in 2009 and his graduate work in education in 2010.

As a competitor, Castor excelled for the Golden Flyers as a middle distance runner. His top performances included an ECAC indoor title in the 1,000-meter run (2:30.79) in 2008; an Empire 8 outdoor title in the 800-meter run (1:55.59) in 2009; and a runner-up finish outdoors in the 1,500-meter run (4:01.59) at the NYSCTC meet in 2009.

As a cross country runner, Castor earned second-team all-conference honors in 2008 after posting a personal-best time of 26:39 for 8 kilometers at Saratoga State Park. He also placed 38th that season at the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet, narrowly missing a trip the nationals.

He competed for the Golden Flyers' indoor track and field team in 2010 and won the state title in the 800-meter run and the Empire 8 championship in the mile. A versatile performer, Castor also holds Nazareth's outdoor mark in the 400-meter hurdles (:56.21).

A graduate of East Syracuse-Minoa High School, Castor competed in both cross country and track there.
