EMPIRE 8 CROSSOVER PAGEROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sophomore Katelynn Reed combined eight kills with six service aces Tuesday as host Nazareth swept Fredonia in three games in a non-conference women's volleyball match. Scores were 30-21, 30-15, 30-23.
Nazareth improved to 8-2 overall while Fredonia slipped to 6-8.
Reed had three of her aces in the first game while Laura Persico and Elizabeth Tregan each had four kills as Nazareth set the tone for the match. The Golden Flyers had 14 services aces overall to just two for Fredonia.
Persico and sophomore Carra Vanderstyne each had 10 kills and sophomore setter Kate Zwickl posted team highs in assists (31 and digs (11).
Nazareth heads to St. John Fisher this weekend to compete in the first round of the Empire 8 crossover tournament. Nazareth plays Ithaca and Alfred on Friday and Elmira and Stevens on Saturday.
