ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting Stevens rallied to defeat Nazareth 2-1 in overtime in an Empire 8 Conference field hockey game. Sophomore Kelly Flanagan scored the Golden Flyers' lone goal in the first half, which gave Nazareth an early 1-0 lead.

With the loss, the Golden Flyers drop to 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the Empire 8. Stevens improves to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in the Conference.

Flanagan put Nazareth on the board in the 28th minute after senior Kelly Miranda started a breakaway at midfield. After streaking down the right side, Miranda sent a crossing pass to Flanagan who was open on the left post.

Stevens answered with just under 10 minutes to play as Alison Shields found Hillary Paul to tie the game 1-1. Paul also scored the game-winning-goal in the 93rd minute to lift the Ducks to the 2-1 victory.

Nazareth had a couple opportunities to win the game in overtime but they were unable to score. The Golden Flyers' best chance was in the 82nd minute when Miranda hit the left post.

Junior Katie May made 10 saves for Nazareth, including two point-blank saves in overtime to keep Nazareth in the game. Stephanie Smith made nine saves for Stevens to earn the victory.

Nazareth held a slight edge in shots (17-15) while Stevens held the advantage in penalty corners (8-6).

The Golden Flyers' next game is at Hamilton Wednesday at 7 p.m. Nazareth hosts two games next weekend -- a key conference game against Ithaca Saturday at 1 p.m. and a non-conference game against Union Sunday at 12 p.m.
