CLINTON, N.Y. -- Junior midfielder Julie Paska (South Glens Falls HS/Fort Edward, NY) scored the game-winning goal with just 18 seconds left in the first overtime period Wednesday to lift visiting Nazareth to a 4-3 field hockey victory over Hamilton.

Paska's goal, off the second assist of the game by junior Kristen McIntyre, saved the Golden Flyers, who squandered a three-goal lead in the second half. Nazareth improved its overall record to 7-4. Hamilton slipped to 4-7.

Senior Keri Ross (Webster Schroeder HS/Webster, NY) scored all three goals in the first half for the Golden Flyers, who built a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 advantage. Hamilton rallied in the second half behind two goals from Natalie Schwerin and the game-tying goal from Colleen Callaghan with less than four minutes to play in regulation.

Nazareth dominated the overtime by outshooting the Continentals 6-1 and finally broke through when Paska delivered her second goal of the season with help from McIntyre.

Freshman Kelsey Evans (Penfield HS/Penfield, NY) played the first 70 minutes in goal for Nazareth, but was relieved in overtime by junior Katie May (Irondequoit HS/Rochester, NY).

Nazareth plays its final two home games of the season this weekend as the Golden Flyers host Ithaca Saturday in a key Empire 8 Conference matchup and Union Sunday in a non-conference clash.
